HSC, equivalent exams begin

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams started across the country, except Sylhet division, today (June 30).

Due to the flood situation, examinations in the division were postponed until July 8.

According to authorities, 14,50,790 students from nine general Education Boards, the Madrasha Board, and the Technical Board are set to take the exams from 9,463 educational institutions at 2,275 centers nationwide.

Specifically, 11,28,281 students will appear from the nine general boards, 88,076 from the Madrasha Board, and 2,34,433 from the Technical Board.

Additionally, 281 students will sit for the exams at eight overseas centers.

In line with previous years, all coaching centers have been instructed to remain closed from Saturday until August 11.

Last year, 13,59,342 students participated in the examinations from all boards.

The HSC written exams are scheduled to continue until August 11, followed by practical exams from August 12 to August 21. For the Technical Board, written exams will run until July 18, with practical exams starting on July 19 and continuing until August 4.

All examinees must enter their exam centers 30 minutes before the start of the exams, with the question paper code being sent via SMS 25 minutes prior to the start.

No one is allowed to bring mobile phones into the exam centers, except for the in-charges who are permitted to carry one mobile phone.

Only examinees, center invigilators, ministry teams, board teams, local administration, upazila administration teams, and security personnel are allowed inside the exam centers.

As previously announced, the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will be available to assist examinees during the exams.
