Protesting teachers meet in afternoon

DHAKA: The Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Association (FBUTA) has called a general meeting to take decision whether they would start taking classes after their meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (January 18).

FBUTA secretary general Professor ASM Maksud Kamal told banglanews that the meeting will be held on Dhaka University campus in city at 5:00pm on Tuesday (January 19).

He further said the premier requested the teachers to return to their works by canceling the ongoing protest program.

“She assured the protesting teachers of public universities to meet their demands,” he added.

Professor Maksud Kamal also said, “We told her that we will take the decision after a meeting with the elected representatives”.
