DHAKA: Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a seminar on contemporary world poetry and a recitation by foreign poets at IUB auditorium in Bashundhara in city on Tuesday (February 2).

Four papers were presented on the European, Arab and Asian contemporary poetries by Milan Richter of Slovakia, Bengt Berg of Sweden, Dr Benaissa Bouhmala of Morocco and Dr Fang Yaw-chein from Taiwan.

The seminar was followed by a recitation participated by Taiwanese poets Lin Fo-er, Lee Rou-ying, Tai Chin-cho, Chen Xiu-zen and Dr Lee Kuei-shien.

IUB vice chancellor Professor M Omar Rahman attended the program as chief guest and ‘Kathak’ president Poet Aminur Rahman as special guest.

IUB Board of Trust former chairman Towhid Samad delivered the concluding speech.
