‘Surooj Mia’ famed director Kajal Arefin died at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday (July 19) evening.

He breathed his last at 6 pm while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Noted actor Tariq Anam Khan confirmed the news.

Kajal was born on April 18, 1948 in Jamalpur. He returned home with his wife last March after living in America for a long time.

Kajal Arefin worked as an assistant director in several movies including 'Surya Dighal Bari', 'Golapi Akhon Traine' and 'Bhat De'.
