DHAKA: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved a total of 17 development projects involving Tk 4,579 crore.
The approval came from a meeting held at the NEC conference room in city’s Shere-e-Banglanagar with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Planning Division Secretary Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam made the disclosure while talking to journalists.
He said, “The ECNEC approved the projects to initiate infrastructural development in eight coastal municipalities with Tk 875 crore allocations in a bid to strengthen the capability for climate change challenges.”
ADB, Strategic climate fund and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will issue a total TK 705 crore as debt and grants for the projects.
Ministers, Advisors to the Prime Minister, Members of the Planning Commission, Secretaries and officials concerned attended the meeting.
