By-elections to the Chattogram-8 constituency will be held on April 27 this year, using the electronic voting machine (EVM).

Election Commission Secretary Jahangir Alam announced the election schedule today (Feb 22) after a meeting of election commissioners.

Candidates can submit their nomination papers till March 27 and last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 5, according to the schedule. 

The Chattogram-8 constituency fell vacant following the death of Awami League MP Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
