SYLHET: Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Fajilpur of Golapganj Thana of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Salah Uddin, 30 and Zakaria Ahmed, 28 of Bianibazar and Jakiganj upazila.

Eyewitness said a Sylhet bound CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a pick-up van, on Sylhet-Jakiganj highway, leaving two people of CNG dead on the spot and three others injured.

Confirming the matter Golapganj Thana officer-in-charge Harun-ur-Rashid said bodies were handed over to family members of deceased while critically injured one was admitted to Osmani hospital.
