At least five people were killed and 35 others injured in an explosion at a steel re-rolling mill in Chattogram's Sitakunda upazila Saturday (Mar 4). 

Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost In-charge Nurul Alam confirmed the matter. 

“So far 30 people were admitted to hospital,” he said. 

The incident took place around 4:30pm today at Seema Oxygen in Kadamrasulpur area of the port city, he added.

Sitakunda Fire Service officer Md Fazle Rabbi said, on information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and are trying to bring the blaze under control.
