In the past 24 hours, law enforcement agencies arrested 1,642 more crime suspects as part of a continued nationwide crackdown, said a press release of the Police Headquarters.
Among them, 1,072 were apprehended in connection with previous cases and warrants, while 570 were held on other criminal charges.
During the operation, authorities also seized a variety of illegal firearms, including a country-made pistol, a single-barrel gun, five pipe guns, two shutter guns, one magazine, four bullets, and four cartridges.
With these arrests, the total number of individuals detained in the past seven days has risen to 7,895 since the renewed drive against criminal activities began.
