The Appellate Division on Thursday (Mar 16) passed a verdict saying that Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) can dismiss its employees without asking for any show cause.
The Appellate Division today overturned a High Court order that had cancelled a section of the ACC.
A seven-judge Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order after granting an appeal filed by the ACC challenging the HC judgement.
Now, the anti-graft body's provision to dismiss employees without show cause will be upheld.
The ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan confirmed the matter.
He said former ACC deputy assistant director Sharif Uddin cannot get back his job following the court judgement.
On February 16, 2021, the ACC sacked Sharif under Section 54 (2).
Advocate Mia Mohammad Ishtiaq had filed a writ petition on behalf of Sharif in March 2022. The court today rejected the writ.
