The Customs Intelligence Branch of Jashore arrested a man with 6 gold bars weighing 600 grams from Bhomra port in Satkhira while trying to smuggle them into India.

The arrestee was identified as Shubhankar Kumar Pal, 25.

He was arrested from Bhomra customs station area on Friday (March 17) at noon.

In-charge of Bhomra Immigration Police Sub-Inspector Majriha Hossain confirmed the matter.

She said Shubhankar was carrying gold in his body. Later, he was arrested before entering the customs area.

The value of recovered gold is about Tk 46.30 lakh, she added.
