A Bangladesh national was shot to death and another was injured as Indian Border Security Force opened fire at them along the Patgram border in Lalmonirhat today (April 2). 

The deceased was identified as - Rabiul Islam, 55, of Kalabagan area under Patgram upazila.  

On the other hand, the injured Shahidul Islam, 30, of Burimari Kalabagan area of the district, is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Patgram Police Station officer-in-charge Omar Faruk confirmed the matter. 

The police recovered the body of border killing victm Rabiul and sent it to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue for post mortem examination, he added. 

Police said that a group of five or seven Bangladeshis went there to bring cattle illegally from Pathantari area of West Bengal and a patrolling team of BSF opened fire on them.
