Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) officials were attacked during a raid at the tax office in Rajshahi on Tuesday (April 4).

The incident took place at the Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibul Islam Bhuiya's office at 11 am in Tax Bhaban.

According to eyewitness, a team led by ACC Rajshahi Divisional Director Kamrul Ahsan entered Rajshahi Circle 13 Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibul Islam Bhuiya's office and started questioning him. At this time, Mahibul Islam started screaming and shouting. At one point, tax office employees broke the door and assaulted the ACC members.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajpara Police Station, Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said ACC officials' search operation was underway. 

They are inspecting files, he said, adding what happened will be known after the end of the search.
