A case has been filed against 250 to 300 unidentified people for attacking and obstructing the police during the fire in the capital's Bangabazar.

The police filed the case as the plaintiff at Bangshal police station in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Lalbagh Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zafar Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said during the fire, several hundred people attacked the headquarters of the Fire Service and Civil Defence and the firefighters. When the police tried to resist them, the police were also attacked.

Legal action will be taken after identifying those involved in the attack, said DC Zafar Hossain.
