A Jhenaidah court today (April 16) sentenced a man to death for killing a seven years old boy at Kapashhatia village under Harinakunda upazila of the district in 2013.
 
Additional District and Session Judge Abdul Matin handed down the verdict to Asadul Islam, 38, a resident of the same area.
 
According to the prosecution, on July 12 in 2013, seven years old boy Asad went missing while playing in a garden close to their house. On information, police recovered his body from a jute field six days after his missing.
 
Following the murder, victim's mother filed a case accusing five people.
 
On January 17 in 2014 police pressed charge-sheet accusing Asadul Islam who had given confessional statement to the court. He said he had strangled Asad to death.
 
Testifying witnesses and evidence the court gave the order in presence of Asadul Islam, said Assistant Public Prosecutor Ajit Kumar Biswas.
 
The court also fined him Taka 20000.
