Many people were injured in an accident involving Sonar Bangla Express train in Cumilla on Sunday evening.

Five compartments of the Dhaka-bound passenger train from Chattogram derailed after it hit a stationary freight train at Hasanpur Station of Nangalkot in the district around 6:45pm, sources said.

Following the accident, train movement remained suspended on Dhaka-Chattogram route.
