Bangladesh starts training foreign pilots in Dreamliner

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has started commercial training of foreign pilots for the first time in South Asia’s aviation history.

According to information, the training programme started on Friday (April 28) by providing training to one pilot of Mongolian Airlines on Dhaka-Sylhet-London route flight. 

However, twelve pilots of Mongolian Airlines will receive training on Boeing 787 Dreamliner of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Shafiul Azim, managing director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, inaugurated the training programme at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today morning.

A press release issued in this regard by Biman Bangladesh Airlines said, “Three pilots will receive the line training in the first batch. Approval has already been taken from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh for this training.”

Biman becomes the first airline among the SAARC countries to train foreign pilots through Dreamliner flight, reads the press release.

Biman CEO said Biman Bangladesh Airlines has gained the confidence of foreign airlines due to its globally commendable flight safety standards, press release added.
