The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has reported that a mild to moderate heat wave is currently affecting several regions of the country.
According to a bulletin issued at 9am today, the heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Manikgonj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jashore, and Chuadanga, and may continue.
Meanwhile, isolated rain or thundershowers with lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely in parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
The highest temperature on Thursday was 39.0°C in Rajshahi, while the lowest recorded today was 22.0°C in Tetulia and Sylhet.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:25pm and rise at 5:28am tomorrow.
