Residents under nine police stations got new regional passport office in the capital's Aftabnagar area.

The residents of Mugda, Sabujbagh, Shahjahanpur, Khilgaon, Rampura, Motijheel, Paltan, Badda and Hatirjheel Police Stations have been seen standing with the applications in a queue since 8am on the ground floor of 'Dhaka Purbo' office at Block F, No 2.

The applicants expressed their satisfaction over the first day of service.

Meanwhile, some applicants alleged that they are facing some trouble getting information as the information centre of the office has yet to open.

Those concerned said that the new passport office has started its activities. Passport applicants are being served from day one. Starting from submission of passport application, fingerprints and photographs are also taken. 

However, as it is a new office, there are some manpower crisis, which will be resolved soon, the concerned official said.
