A man was run over by a minibus at Jatrabari in the capital.

The deceased was identified as Shafiullah, 60.

According to locals, the minibus driver was caught red-handed and later handed him over to police. Besides, the killer minibus was seized.

The accident happened at about 11:45am on Tuesday (May 9) at Jatrabari Chowrasta. 

Later, the critically injured Shafiullah was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) emergency department where an on-duty doctor pronounced the man dead at about 12:30pm.

Jatrabari Police Station's sub-inspector Noor Mohammad confirmed the matter.

The culprit minibus driver of 'Turag Paribahan' was arrested and the minibus involved in the killing was seized, he added.
