A woman was killed as miscreants slighted her throat at Muradpur union of Shitakundo.

The deceased was identified as Saima Akter, wife of Didarul Alam, a residence of Hasnabad village. 

The incident happened on Tuesday (May 9) at 11:00 pm.

According to the police source, locals first saw Saima's dead body beside a pond near her house. Later, they informed the police. Initially, it is believed that the woman may have been killed due to a family dispute.

Three people have been detained in connection to the incident for interrogation. However, the husband of the deceased was at his workstation at that time.

Tofael Ahmed, the Officer in charge of Shitakundo police station confirmed the matter.

The incident is being investigated, also a case will be filed in this regard, he added.
