District Detective Branch (DB) of Police, in a drive, on Friday (May 13) night arrested three people with four gold bars weighing 1.8kg grams in Jibannagar upazila of the district.

The detainees were identified as Mazharul Islam Paltu, 32, a resident of Ghurgachi village, Shahbuddin Khan, 45, a resident of Barandi village and Asir Uddin, 42, an inhabitant of Ghurgachi village under the upazila.
 
DB police sources said on information, they conducted a raid on Shahpur- Raipur road in the upazila around 8 pm and nabbed the trio with the gold bars.

Chuadanga Police Superintendent Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter. 

A case is being filed against the accused while police raid is underway to nab the rest of the accused, he added.
