Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said metro rail will run 12 hours from 8am daily except Friday from May 31.

DMTCL managing director MAN Siddique disclosed the matter at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban in the capital on Thursday (May 18).

He said, "As we have said we will increase the time gradually. Therefore, we will proceed with this schedule keeping in mind the needs of the people."

Metro rail will run every 10 minutes during peak hours from 8am to 11pm and every 15 minutes from 11am to 3pm taking into account off-peak hours, he said.

Metro trains will run every 10 minutes from 3pm to 6pm as peak hour and every 15 minutes from 6pm to 8pm in consideration of off-peak hours, he added.

However, Friday will be the weekend for metro rail, MAN Siddique said.
