Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today (June 1) said the overall budget deficit for the fiscal year 2023-24 will be Tk261,785 crore.
This is equal to 5.2% of the GDP, the minister confirmed in his speech at the parliament.
The budget deficit for the current fiscal year (FY23) was estimated at Tk245,064 crore.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said while placing the proposed national budget for FY23 at Jatiya Sangsad today.
