A pedestrian was killed as a pickup van hit him in Madhobpur Upazila of the district today (June 3). 

The deceased was identified as Md Farid Mia, 40, hailed from Sirajganj district.
 
Officer-in-Charge of Shaistaganj Highway Thana Moinul Islam Bhuiyan said the accident occurred this noon as the pickup van crushed him in Kowsernagar area on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway. 

Farid Mia died on the spot, he added. 

Highway police seized the pickup van. Police brought the body to Thana.
