Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury wins Sylhet city polls

Ruling Awami League-backed candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury won the Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) unofficially. 

The results were published on Wednesday (June 21) night.

Anwaruzzaman secured 1,18,614 votes while his nearest contender Jatiya Party contestant Nazrul Islam Babul got 51,321 votes so far.

Voting for 190 vote centres of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) polls was held from 8am to 4pm on Wednesday.
