DHAKA: The 5th Asian regional conference of International Coalition of Historic Sites of Conscience (ICSC) began here on Saturday to form a coalition of Asian War Museums.  

Trustee of Liberation War Museum Mufidul Haq inaugurated the conference, organized by the Liberation War Museum at the BRAC Inn center.

Representatives from museums of Asian countries and various organizations and distinguished persons are taking part in the two-day conference.

The countries attending the conference are Thailand, China, Korea, the Philippines, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, Nepal and host Bangladesh. USA is attending the conference as a special representative.

Mufidul Haq told banglanews24.com.bd, “Eight war museums of different countries formed a coalition in 1999, in which Bangladesh War Museum represented Asia. Now the Asian war museums are going to form a coalition.”

He further said the forum would project the historic movements before the new generations.

Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni will address the concluding session of the conference tomorrow (Sunday).
