At least five people were killed and three others injured after a passenger bus and a three-wheeler 'Mahindra' collided head-on in Faridpur's Bhanga upazila on Wednesday (June 4) morning.
The incident happened around 7:00 am in the Chamurdi Bablatola bus stand area under the upazila.
However, the identities of the deceased and injured were not known immediately.
Bhanga Fire Service said the accident occurred when a Mizan Paribahan bus collided head-on with a Mahendra. Upon receiving the information, two units from Bhanga Fire Station rushed to the spot and began rescue operations.
Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rokibuzzaman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
He said four people died on the spot, while another died after being taken to the hospital. Three others sustained injuries and were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
“We are continuing the rescue operation. Details will be provided later,” the OC added.
