421 sued over attack on BGB in Nilphamari

A case has been filed against 21 people including 400 unidentified people in Nilphamari for alleged connection with attempts to snatch election materials, attacks on Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members, and vandalism.

Naib Subedar Nazrul Islam of Nilphamari Battalion (56 BGB) filed the case as a plaintiff on Tuesday (July 19) afternoon.

The alleged accused are - Ferdous Mia (40), Abdul Barek (35), Md. Tarek (32), Shafiar Rahman (60), Rahidul Islam (55), A. Karim (48), Tasin (23), Rabiul Islam (30), Kaminur Rahman (34), Fazal Mia Rana (35), Mosa. Nasima Begum (28), Mosa. Rubina Begum (40), Mosa. Parveen Begum (35), A. Karim (48), Abu Hanif (42), Md. Masudul Islam (30), Md. Farhad Ali (35), Md. Habibur Rahman Habu (30), Md. Anisur Rahman (33) and Md. Abu Zahid (38).

According to information, police till now arrested 11 people in this regard.

On July 17, some people attempted to snatch election materials, attacked Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members and vandalized during voting at South Kharibari Panditpara Government Primary School of Ward No. 8 of Tepa Kharibari Union.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dimla Police Station Laisur Rahman confirmed the matter.

After the case, 11 accused have been arrested so far. They have been sent to jail by court. "We are working to arrest the rest of the accused," he said.
