A student of HSC second year was killed and his friend injured after a truck hit their motorcycle in the capital's Rampura area early Sunday (July 23).

The deceased was identified as Pulock Gomez, 21, son of Bipin Gomez while the injured is Noyon.

Pulok's brother-in-law Roni Michel Rozario said the accident occurred around 3am in front of Better Life Hospital when Pulock Gomez and his friend were returning home in Norda from old Dhaka by a motorbike after having some food (Biryani).

Critically injured Pulock and his friend Hasan were first taken to a private hospital. Later, Pulock was shifted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated. later, he was declared dead there by the on-duty doctors.

Hatirjheel Police Station Sub Inspector (SI) Mehdi Hasan confirmed the matter.
