Five members of a family, including a woman and a child, were burnt after a gas line leakage led to an explosion at Jurain in Kadamtali of the capital on early Monday (August 14).

The injured are identified as Md Atahar (35), and his wife Mukta Khatun (30), their daughter Afsana (5), Mukta's father Altaf Sikder (72) and her mother Morjina Begum (50).

The explosion took place around 2 am. 

Later, the injured were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute around 3:00 pm, said Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-Charge Md Bacchu Mia.
