Three killed in Keraniganj godown fire

Three people, including a child, were killed in a fire that broke out at a godown in the capital's Keraniganj on early Tuesday (August 15).

The deceased were Jesmin Akter, 30, Mina Akhter, 22, and her daughter Taiyeba, 2.  

The fire broke out around 3:30am, according to locals.

Mamunur Or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj model police station, said: “We went to the spot after receiving information about the fire in the chemical godown.”  
He also said that three people including a child were killed in this incident. Besides, others are admitted to the hospital.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp in-charge inspector Md. Bachchu Mia said three people take treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and burn unit. 

They are - Mohammad Saeed (25), Sohag (22) and Roza Moni (5). Among them, Sohag and Moni are hospitalized, he added.
