A Panama flagged commercial vessel arrived at Mongla port with 29,630 metric ton (MT) of coal from Indonesia on Sunday (September 10).
The ship anchored at Harbaria of Mongla port on Sunday (September 10) around 9:30 in the morning.
On August 15, the ship left Indonesia for Bangladesh with 53,630 metric tons of coal from the port. Later 24,000 metric tons of coal was transported at Chattogram port. The ship then reached Mongla with the remaining 29,630 metric tons of coal.
Khandaker Riazul Haque, Assistant Manager (Khulna) of the ship's local shipping agent, M/s Toggi Shipping & Logistics Limited, said, unloading of coal from the ship anchored in the morning started.
After unloading, lighter ships will be taken to the jetty of the thermal power plant, he added.
On August 28, another Panama-flagged commercial vessel arrived at Mongla port with 30,950 metric tons of coal for Rampal thermal power plant.
