The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Monday (September 11) arrested 53 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 6,900 pieces of Yaba tablets, 4.59kg of hemp, 197gm of heroin, and 10 bottles of phensedyl from their possessions, said the statement. 

According to the statement, 40 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
