Supreme Court’s Appellate Division senior-most judge Obaidul Hassan has been made the acting Chief Justice of the country as Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard.

"According to article 97, the Appellate Division Judge Obaidul Hasan has been given the charge of Chief Justice from September 11-18 till Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique will take charge again," the notification reads.

Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique went to Saudi Arabia on Monday (September 11) afternoon to perform Umrah.
