A cyclist was killed in a road accident on the Senbag Bazar-Senbag road in front of Khalek's shop in Kabilpur union under Senbag upazila of the district today (September 14).

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Mainuddin Niloy, 13, son of late Ala Uddin, resident of Paschim Lalpur village of the upazila.

Md Ruhul Amin, Officer-in-charge, (OC-Investigation) inspector confirmed the matter. 

According to locals, Niloy was cycling on the road in front of Khalek's shop. When a speeding pickup van hit Niloy and he fell on the road. He died on the spot after another motorcycle ran over him around 12:30pm. 

Police recovered the body from the spot, Ruhul Amin said.

The driver of the pickup van and motorcyclist managed to flee the scene, he added.
