Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imran Ahmed, who allegedly sought people's vote for the ruling Awami League in the next election recently while addressing a programme, has been transferred to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Besides, the government has appointed Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy Shafiur Rahman as the new DC of Jamalpur.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued an order in this regard on Thursday (September 14).

Earlier, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the statement of Jamalpur DC Imran Ahmed would be scrutinized.
