RAJSHAHI: A police man who was injured in cocktail blast died at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as constable Siddartha.

Sources said at least nine police men were injured as miscreants threw cocktails at a running police van in Sonadigi more area of the divisional city on Thursday noon.

Amongst the injured—the condition of constables Shahariar, Ananda is critical while policemen Tuhid, Rafi, Asad, Abdul Mazid, Rayhan and Sohel were slightly injured.

Siddartha and Ananda were taken to Combined Military Hospital as their condition deteriorated, where Siddartha succumbed to his injuries around 9:30pm.

Police sources said that miscreants launched the bomb attack at around 12:30pm while police were going to conduct a drive.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
