The authorities suspended the services of metro rail for nearly 50 minutes on Tuesday as a cable TV wire fell onto its power line at a spot between Karwan Bazar and Shahbagh in Dhaka.
The operation resumed at 12:36pm before it came to a halt around 11:50am.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director MAN Siddique confirming the matter said the services were suspended to avoid any risk.
“As a cable TV wire was thrown onto the metro rail's electric line, we stopped the operation until the cable was removed from there. Trains are running now on both tracks,” he said.
