DHAKA: The government has imposed a restriction on the plying of motorcycle from January 3 midnight to January 7 midnight in order to maintain law and order and to avert sabotage.

The precaution was taken in a bid to hold the national election on January 5 smoothly.

Any violation to the order will be followed by upto seven years imprisonment and fine.

Besides, the restriction will also be imposed on cab, baby-taxi, battery run auto rickshaw, easy bike, microbus, jeep, pickup van, private car, bus, truck, engine run boat and speed boat in election area from January 4 midnight to January 5 midnight.
