At least one person was killed and 12 injured as a bus hit a covered van at Chauddagram in Cumilla. 

The incident took place after midnight on Tuesday (April 9). 

Chauddagram police station sub-assistant inspector Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.

The deceased was identified as Sahida Begum (40), a resident of Brahmanbaria. 

Chauddagram upazila health officer Golam Sarwar said a total of 13 people, including women and children, underwent treatment at the Upazila hospital at night. Of them, a woman died.

According to eyewitnesses, a car rammed a bus from behind. The passengers were trapped inside the bus. They were later rescued by the law enforcers.
