CHITTAGONG: A gang of masked killers shot a businessman to death at Ranirhat Bazar under Rangunia upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 30, a readymade garment businessman, son of Mofjol Hossain and resident of the area.

Witnesses said a gang of 10-12 masked miscreants attacked and shot Jahangir in the area around 10:00pm while he was returning home from his shop, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he was rushed to the hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Rangunia Police Station Waliullah Oli confirmed the matter to banglanews.
