A fire that broke out at a tyre manufacturing factory in Rupsi area under Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj has not yet doused.

Narayanganj Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Fakhruddin said the fire erupted in Gazi Tyre Factory around 10:35pm and they received information within five minutes.

He mentioned that two firefighting units from Demra station responded immediately and rushed to the scene, followed by five additional units.

Due to the high intensity of the fire, fueled by flammable materials like rubber and tyres, five more firefighting units from various stations were deployed, and they are still working to control the blaze.

Besides, 14 people were rescued from the factory.

However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will only be determined after an investigation.
