ASHULIA, DHAKA: Workers of two ready garments on Saturday staged protest in Ashulia protesting job cut, demanding pay hike and opening shut factories.
Witnesses and industrial police source said that workers of Yard Dying and Interco Sweater staged work abstention protesting job cut and demanding pay hike.
Agitating workers said banglanews that authorities of Interco Sweater had kept their factories shut for last four months while workers’ payment remain due.
In this circumstance, workers staged protest on Saturday demanding payment of dues and to open the factory.
Director of Ashulia Industrial Police Mostafizur Rahman told banglanews that workers of Yard Dying joined work getting assurance from authorities while workers of Interco Sweater were dispersed when they tried to block nearby highway.
Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert untoward situation, he added.
