KUSHTIA: Former Member of the Parliament Khandakar Rahsiduzzaman Dudu was laid to rest at family graveyard on Friday afternoon.
His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at around 5:15pm at Kushtia central Eidgah ground where local administration gave him Guard of Honour.
Meanwhile, all walks of people paid last tribute to him and joined Namaz-e-Janaza.
Earlier in the day, the first Namaz-e-Janaza of Rashiduzzaman Dudu was held at South Plaza of Parliament Bhaban.
Jatiya Sangsad Jame mosque Imam Maolana Abu Nayem Ibrahim conducted the Janaza around 10:00am.
On behalf of President Abdul Hamid, his military affairs secretary Major general Abul Hossain paid tribute to him and then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid her last tribute to him.
Among others, opposition chief whip Tazul Islam Chowdhury, Bashundhara Group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Managing director Sayem Sobhan, East West Media group publisher Moinal Hossain Chowdhury, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, also member of the parliament from Kushtia, several MPs, FBCCI president Akram Uddin Ahmed, renowned businessman Salman F Rahman joined the Namaz-Janaza of the Rashiduzzaman Dudu.
The eminent business leader-organizer breathed his last at 7:00am Wednesday after suffering from many age-related diseases.
He also was president of district Juba League for long and vice-president of Kushtia government college Chhatra Sangshad.
The former lawmaker was also an eminent businessman and leader of the business community.
He served in the Rupali Bank as chairman for five years and vice-president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI, the apex body of businessmen of the country.
He served Kushtia Chamber of Commerce as president for several terms.
