A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was felt in Dhaka and elsewhere in Bangladesh early Friday.
The epicentre of the light category quake, which struck at 12:43am, was Zajira in Shariatpur, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin.
The distance of the epicentre was 48km south of the BMD Seismic Centre in Dhaka, it said.
No damage was reported in the incident.
