President lied over Hasina’s resignation: Law adviser

Law adviser Asif Nazrul today (Oct 21) said President Mohammed Shahabuddin has lied and violated his oath of office by stating he does not have the resignation letter of ousted premier Sheikh Hasina.

He made the remark while talking to reporters on Monday at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Asif Nazrul said, there is a question whether he has the qualifications to hold this position. If he sticks to his statement, the issue will be taken to the advisory council for the next course of action.

Recently, while talking to the editor-in-chief of Daily Manabzamin, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, President Md. Sahabuddin told him that he had heard that Sheikh Hasina had resigned from the post of Prime Minister. But he has no documentary proof of this.
