At least three people were killed, and 10 others injured when a passenger bus lost control and crashed into a roadside tree at Gangra in Jagannathdighi union under Cumilla’s Chauddagram upazila.
The accident occurred around 12:30pm on Sunday (Dec 15) on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
Superintendent of Highway Police in Cumilla Region, Md. Khairul Alam, confirmed the matter.
He said, “A bus of of Hanif Paribahan, traveling from Chattogram, went out of control near Gangra, hitting a tree. Three male passengers died on the spot. However, their identities are yet to be determined.”
The injured were rushed to Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Police are currently working at the accident site, he added.
