Bangladesh achieved a historic milestone in December 2024, with remittance inflows reaching $2.64 billion, or Tk31,668 crore.
This surpasses the previous record of $2.59 billion in July 2020.
Bangladesh Bank data shows that remittance inflows in December 2024 increased by 33% compared to December 2023.
Since the end of the Hasina regime on 5 August, monthly remittance figures have consistently exceeded $2 billion.
The total remittance inflow during July-December 2024 rose by 27% year-on-year, amounting to $1,377.70 crore, compared to $1,080 crore during the same period in 2023.
