NILPHAMARI: More than 100 houses of 40 families were gutted in a devastating fire at ward no.5 of Gorgram Union under Sadar Upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The origination of fire could not be known immidiately.

Locals said that the fire originated at a house around 10:00pm and sonn spread out to the adjacent houses.

Meanwhile, domestic animals including cow, goats, hens and ducks were also burnt into ashes in the fire.

On information, a fire service unit rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Nilphamari Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabet Ali visited the affected area at around 12:00am.

Nilphamari Fire Station Team Leader Farhad Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
